Home » Texas trail ride supports next generation of leaders: Kids with cancer
On December 11, 2014, Leo Reichle presented a check to Dr. David Poplack on behalf of the 2014 golf tournament event hosted by Rancher’s Ride, an annual trail ride. The $80,000 donation will be used to support research and patient care at Texas Children’s Hospital, which has the largest pediatric cancer center in the United States. Joining in the check presentation was Ned Torian of the Advisory Board to Texas Children’s Cancer Center.
“Having a good time for a good cause” is the motto for Rancher’s Ride, which celebrated its 29th year in 2014. Rancher’s Ride brings together hundreds of riders every April to enjoy a relaxing trail ride on a scenic route through the beautiful ranches of the central Texas region. Attendees on the recreational ride celebrate their Texas heritage and raise money to help children develop into the next generation of leaders. The weekend ride features an auction on Saturday night, for which the profits are donated to local nonprofit organizations, including Texas Children’s Cancer Center.
Rancher’s Ride is a 501(c)(3) entity proudly donating 100% of the money raised to Texas charities. To learn more about Rancher’s Ride or to sign up as a donor or supporter, visit ranchersride.org.
