The General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) recently presented the Research Subject Advocate (RSA) Award to Dr. Patrick Thompson, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Section of Hematology/Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine.
The award was established by the General Clinical Research Center RSA office to recognize and honor individual contributions to protecting the best interest of the research subjects and compliance with research regulations.
Dr. Patrick Thompson’s research activities in the General Clinical Research Center focus on clinical trials of investigational anti-cancer drugs. His responsibilities include overseeing the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) Phase I clinical trials, consenting subjects, and most importantly patient care.
