The Houston Astros’ Hometown Heroes program recognizes everyday people from the Houston community who have helped people in extraordinary ways. Dr. ZoAnn Dreyer, medical director of the Long Term Survivor Program at Texas Children’s Cancer Center, was chosen as a Houston Astros’ Hometown Hero for the 2008 season.
Dreyer was honored at the July 28 Astros vs. Reds game and threw out the first pitch before the game began as patients Kendall Tate (center) and David Murphy look on.
