Home » Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon raises funds for cancer research
On December 10-11 2010, the seventh annual Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon at Texas Children’s Hospital hit the airwaves on four local Cox Radio stations simultaneously. The New 93Q (92.9 FM), Country Legends (97.1 FM), The Zone (106.9), and The Eagle (107.5 FM) all held live broadcasts from the hospital and featured compelling stories from Texas Children’s patients who are battling cancer.
As the largest pediatric oncology and hematology program in the country, Texas Children’s sees more than 1,900 new patients each year. Through the generous donations of radio listeners, the Radiothon netted over $623,412 in pledges this year for the fight against childhood cancer.
Funds raised through the Radiothon support the Texas Children’s Cancer Center’s mission to provide personalized, high-quality, family-centered care to children, adolescents and young adults with cancer and blood disorders, as a well as to provide world-class education and training for current and future leaders in the field.
GDF Suez Energy Resources NA and Foresters were the Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon’s presenting sponsors.
