Home » Artists Bring Hope to Cancer Patients
July 1, 2005 – Texas Children’s Hospital Developments
Texas Children’s Cancer Center Arts in Medicine Program recently expanded its program with the addition of a new “artist-in-residence.”
The artist-in-residence program allows our patients exposure to a wide variety of art–from creative writing and poetry to visual arts,” said Carol Herron, coordinator for Arts in Medicine at Texas Children’s Cancer Center. “Having an artist visit the children on a regular basis gives them something to look forward to each week when they come in for treatment and the opportunity to make a new friend.”
Diana Sanchez with City ArtWorks is the latest community artist to share her talents with patients at the largest pediatric oncology/hematology center in Texas.
