Biography
Dr. Eastwood Leung is the director of the Genomics and Proteomics Core Laboratory (GPCL) of Texas Children’s Hospital. The goal of GPCL is to develop and harness advanced genomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics technologies for discovery of biomarkers of cancers. GPCL provides genomic profiling such as GeneChip technology, Beadarray technology, and real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) as services. Two dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (2D PAGE) and multidimensional liquid chromatography are the proteomic profiling platforms. Subproteome analyses such as glycoproteome and phosphoproteome is provided based on 2D PAGE platform. Bioinformatics services include high confidence feature selections and model development. Validation assays developments such as ELISA and protein arrays are also available. The laboratory is also developing advanced genomics and proteomics technologies with focus on improving sample preparation, high-through put DNA detection, proteins and peptides separation and detection, and high throughput screening assays.
