Dr. Mireya Paulina Velasquez’s current clinical research interests involve T-cell therapy for hematologic malignancies and leukemia/lymphoma.
Dr. Mireya “Paulina” Velasquez earned her medical degree from the Universidad Francisco Marroquin in Guatemala where she graduated first out of forty students. At Baylor College of Medicine, she was Neonatology’s third year chief resident and was a former research specialist in sickle cell disease at Texas Children’s Hospital. She later attended Baylor College of Medicine’s Fellowship Program in Hematology/Oncology where she was based at Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers.
She is fluent in English, Spanish, German, Italian, French, and also developed a basic knowledge of Chinese.
