About Michael Gleason, MD

Dr. Michael Gleason was introduced to the world of pediatric cancer when he was diagnosed with lymphoma in high school. He was treated here at Texas Children’s Hospital on one of the research protocols that Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine were offering. His personal experience as a patient drove his desire to attend medical school and become a children’s cancer and blood disease doctor at Texas Children’s and work alongside the doctors who cured him.

Dr. Gleason coordinated the opening of the new Texas Children’s Hospital hematology clinic in The Woodlands, Texas. The new clinic has been accepting some patients with blood diseases and disorders, including hemolytic anemias, sickle cell disease, low white blood cell disorders and patients with abnormal newborn screens. We plan to expand the clinic to accept oncology patients after the new hospital is completed in 2017.

Dr. Gleason is a member of the Leukemia Program, the Lymphoma Program, the General Hematology Program and the Sickle Cell Program.
