About Dr. Lakshmi Srivaths

Dr. Lakshmi Srivaths is Co-Director of the Young Women’s Bleeding Disorder Clinic and a member of the General Hematology Program, Hemostasis and Thrombosis Program. She is involved in clinical research in the areas of hemostasis and thrombosis. She is the recipient of the Pediatric Pilot Grant award from Texas Children’s Hospital for the project comparing the efficacy of oral tranexamic acid and oral contraceptive therapy in adolescents with menorrhagia. In collaboration with gynecology, Dr. Srivaths is participating in a research project entitled, “Improving Education and Advocacy for Young Women with Menorrhagia Through Use of Innovative Technology.” She is actively involved in research studies addressing the utility of platelet function studies in adolescents with menorrhagia and von Willebrand polymorphisms and acquired von Willebrand disease. She is also participating in a research project about secondary myelofibrosis.

Dr. Lakshmi Srivaths is the recipient of the Fulbright & Jaworski L. L. P. Faculty Excellence Award, 2011 in the “Teaching and Evaluation” category, and the Fellow’s Education Award, Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center, 2011.
