Dr. Poplack is the Director of the Texas Children’s Cancer Center and Deputy Director of BCM’s Dan L. Duncan Cancer Center. He is Principal Investigator of an NCI K12 Pediatric Oncology Clinical Research Training Grant. Dr. Poplack has authored 357 original articles and book chapters relating to pediatric oncology and serves on the editorial board of numerous subspecialty journals. He is co-editor of Principles and Practice of Pediatric Oncology, the leading textbook of pediatric oncology, which is in its sixth edition. He has also served on numerous NIH, FDA and Institute of Medicine Committees. Dr. Poplack is a member of the National Cancer Institutes’ Board of Scientific Counselors.

Dr. Susan Blaney is the Co-Director of the Clinical Pharmacology Program at Texas Children’s Cancer Center. She performs pre-clinical and clinical studies of new antineoplastic agents and serves as the Chair for Developmental Therapeutics for the Children’s Oncology Group. A primary focus of her research is the development of new drugs for the treatment of central nervous system tumors in children with a particular emphasis on the development of new agents for intrathecal administration.
