About Our Centers

US News and World Report Best Children's Hospitals

Among the Best Children's Cancer Centers in the Nation

As the largest pediatric cancer center in the United States, and the #1 in Texas, we provide medical treatment for patients with childhood cancer and childhood blood disorders.  The nationally acclaimed children's clinic, along with the research and drug development programs, is considered by U.S. News & World Report to be among the best children's hospitals for cancer.

Our world-renowned staff of 135 faculty and over 750 staff have pioneered many of the now standard protocols for treating and curing pediatric cancer and blood disorders. In addition, we provide a full range of pediatric subspecialty care available in-house 24 hours a day and treat all pediatric cancer and blood disorders, even the rarest disorders. Over 35,000 outpatient visits are performed each year with patients from 35 states and 26 countries, making us the largest pediatric cancer and hematology program in the United States.

We know that the diagnosis of cancer or a blood disorder is traumatic for both the child and the family. As a leader in family-centered care, Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Centers provide personalized, comprehensive services that address both the physical and emotional aspects of the disease.

Working as a Team to Cure Kids

Treatment is organized around diagnosis-specific treatment teams. By working together as a team, patients benefit from the combined talents and expertise of some of the best physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, and child life specialists. Patients are seen by the same doctors, nurses, and social workers on an ongoing basis to provide a sense of trust, safety, and comfort. Children and teens receive some of the best care in the world for their disease because they are monitored by an entire team, rather the a single doctor, allowing the patient the best chance to receive comprehensive cancer control.

"Universal" programs care for all children with cancer and blood disorders, such as the Psychosocial Support Program and the Long Term Survivor Program.
